Tips for increase torrent speed
After using Torrent Ratio Keeper a little while to increase torrent speed, I came across some tips and tricks that I thought might be handy for other people to know, so I'll post them here.
First off, even right out of the box, with the default settings, TRK goes a pretty long way toward letting you increase torrent speed. After playing with the settings a little bit, I've found a few effective strategies for keeping speeds really high on all the trackers I use.
- Remember to run both TRK and your torrent client as admin, to make sure everything runs smoothly.
- Setting the "Global Setting" to high seems like an obvious start, in your effort to increase torrent speed. If you have any picky trackers, you can always manually set them later.
- Leave the "Smart Traffic Multiply" enabled, it's helping you out by keeping your upload rates more natural looking.
- "Seeder Mode" is pretty handy when you want to build ratio on a tracker, just start a torrent, turn on Seeder Mode for that tracker, and watch your ratio go through the roof in a very short time.
- "Emulate Upload Problems" is also pretty nice, when you want to grab something without ratio problems, since this mode keeps the tracker from counting your traffic against you.
- Don't forget that you can set the option to run the program minimized to the tray, to save some space. This way it can keep running in the background, working to constantly increase torrent speed.
